My name is Lin HuangYu, Norman and I am from Hwa Chong Institution. Currently, I am in Year 4 and soon, College 1. I am in the Science and Math Talent Programme since 2010 (Sec 3). I have a very strong interest in the sciences and my ambition is to be a doctor.

Over both years, I have conducted 2 projects, namely "Effects of antioxidants on UV-treated Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces Cerevisiae" and "Food preservation via the use of lysozyme-like substance". As seen from the titles of the 2 science projects, they are mainly based in biology. As you can see, I am very interested in Biology, in which the passion has manifested in my ambition to be a doctor.

With the 2 projects, I have participated in the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair 2011 (SSEF) with the first project and was awarded Merit and the Biotech Fair Competition 2011 with the second project and was awarded Gold in Category 2.

My CCA is NPCC and I am in the ExCo as one of the Division Chairman this year.

On a more casual note, one of my favourite pastime is to listen to music. I listen mainly to K-Pop, and some of my favourite artists include Girls' Generation, Super Junior and 2NE1.

One of the problems that I've been worrying about is the increasing lack of resources and the increase in extreme weathers around the globe. This is definitely due to the lack of conservation of the nature and the abrupt increase of industralisation and development in many parts of the world, causing the earth to be unable to meet up with the demand of resources for development.
