While looking at the Qioptiq website, one portion that really caught my attention was the part on Medical and Life Sciences. Qioptiq provides hospitals with equipment for usage from endoscopy, X-ray, laser surgery to microscopy. What really impressed me is the amount of basics Qioptiq has provide for every hospital to function properly. Without the presence of Qioptiq, it is very hard to imagine how surgeons can work on patients, and how pathologists can identify viruses.

Other than the medical sector, Qioptiq also provides many other products and solutions such as lens, semiconductors, projectors and etc.
After researching on Qioptiq, I am really impressed at how physics can be applied to create products not only for the manufacturing industry, but also other sectors such as for the aerospace, medical and life sciences. I am amazed at how much photonics purely can be applicable to so many more sectors.
Throughout this learning journey, I hope to understand not only more about photonics, but also how these photonics bridge the gap between physics and biology, and how interdisciplinary science can get.
